Call pickup/steal is not normally used with a voice carrier service as it is more of a PABX feature. It is disabled by default, but can be enabled on hunt groups and telephone configuration if required. It allows a ringing call to a phone or hunt group to be picked up, or an active call to be stolen by dialling prefix (default *) and the extension number.

Pickup and steal can be provided via RADIUS controls on a large scale voice service.
